Political apathy in Canada is rampant. The True North Times has sprung up from the tundra to combat that very fact. We deal in Canadian political satire designed to engage the demographics that have a huge potential impact but are plagued by apathy. Our goal is not only to make Canadian politics accessible, it is to make it funny, to make it entertaining.

 

The Canadian political scene has never been more amusing. Scandals, politicians who are more ridiculous than cartoon characters and highly contested elections on the horizon, where there will surely be blunders and comedic moments. The True North Times exists to capitalize on those moments. We want to bring the absurdity together in one place, comment on it and make you laugh. Join us for a laugh in the wonderful world of federal, provincial and municipal politics. A comedian, filmmaker, writer, and political satirist, Simren serves as the head executive. He has worked as an independent director for the Machinima network, where he produced original, scripted narrative content for an audience of millions. His experience in scriptwriting translated to program pitches to the CBC, where they were well received. The True North Times, this newest and latest, was founded on the principle of informing with humour. Simren manages the larger directional concerns for the company.

Max directs creative considerations. Every article goes through him and he works with our writers from across the country to produce content that is consistent and consistently funny. Max has also produced, written and directed an original musical, has competed in debates and political simulations across the country, and is an award winning curler. Coming from a background in sales and writing, inspiring Canadians through political satire is a job he loves. He takes pride in all our articles and looks forward to the ones coming in the future.

After finishing a stint working at a PR firm that specializes in the technology sector, he helped bring The True North Times to the public. He manages the company’s social media presence, keeps his finger on the pulse of the newswire and tries to direct the company’s strategy towards the issues and products the Canadian public cares about most.
